Hello, World!

Welcome to my corner of the internet! After years of building software for various companies, I've finally decided to carve out a space to share my thoughts, experiences, and learnings.

Why Start a Blog?

I've been in the software industry for over a decade now, and throughout that time I've accumulated knowledge that I think could be valuable to share. From my time at startups to larger companies like OpenTable and Gap Inc., I've seen a lot of different approaches to building software.

Writing helps me:

  • Clarify my thinking - There's nothing like trying to explain something to realize you don't fully understand it
  • Give back - I've learned so much from other developers' blogs and want to contribute
  • Document my journey - A personal record of what I was thinking and building at different points in time

What to Expect

I plan to write about:

  1. Software Engineering - Practical insights from building real products
  2. Tools & Workflows - The tools I use and why I chose them
  3. Career Reflections - Lessons learned from working at different companies
  4. Side Projects - Things I'm building and experimenting with

A Bit About Me

I'm Byron, a software engineer based in San Francisco. I've worked across the full stack but have a particular love for building great user experiences. Currently, I'm exploring what's possible with modern web technologies like Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

When I'm not coding, you'll find me exploring the Bay Area, reading, or tinkering with new technologies.

Let's Connect

I'm always happy to chat with fellow developers. You can find me on:

Thanks for stopping by. I'm excited to share this journey with you!
